I. Bioreactors

Medical cell based therapies aim to provide biological organ support or replacement tissue. Here, the need for cell culture models to study transplantable vital tissues is increasing. Bioreactor constructions for such studies allow more sophisticated culture conditions. They are also of interest for drug testing or for the production of drug-like molecules by cell cultures.

The most sophisticated bioreactors (BR 600, BR 10) need perfusion, oxygenation, and temperature control devices. The more simplified incubator reactor IR 001 was developed to be used without additional technical devices and can be handled like a standard tissue culture flask, with the ability to observe the cultures microscopically.
